We use the following phases in our engagements with teams:

Phase 1: Assessment: Understanding the Current State and the Way Forward

  • Assessment of the current state of the company and its leadership
  • Lay the foundation and focus for team development

Phase 2: Team Building: Addressing Team Dynamics and Team Dysfunction

  • 3.0 days; includes dinner meeting kick-off
  • Assessment of the dynamics of the team through one-on-one interviews with senior leadership team
  • Read "The 5 Dysfunctions of a Team"
  • Take "The 5 Dysfunctions of a Team" assessment
  • Share assessment information with the team
  • Custom team building session to address the areas of opportunity
  • Jointly design next steps with client

Phase 3: Power of Choice Leadership Retreat: Building Personal Mastery

  • 4.5 day leadership retreat
  • Use horses as teachers
  • Understand the adaptive and core personal leadership model
  • Identify specific self-limiting individual behaviors
  • Learn ways to shift into power and influence when under stress and pressure

Phase 4: Team Coaching Sessions: Working on Team and Organizational Issues

  • 6 Action Learning Sessions spread throughout the year
  • Custom designed sessions 1 day in length
  • Learn new distinctions in team dynamics and individual leadership
  • Take on actual issues facing the organization and the team

Phase 5: One-on-One Coaching: Ensuring the Behavioral Change is Sustainable

  • One-on-one coaching sessions completed over 6 months to one year
  • Each member of the senior leadership team will choose one of our executive coaches to work with creating a partnership
  • Change ineffective behaviors of the leader
  • Systematically measure progress throughout the coaching engagement
  • Determination and agreement of coaching goals (with input from stakeholders and other assessment tools as needed)
  • Creation of a leadership development plan that includes agreed-upon goals, targeted outcomes, action steps, time frames, and measures
  • A mix of in-person and phone coaching sessions projected to occur approximately every two to three weeks
  • Additional "homework" assignments between coaching sessions
